Our History

We’re the Hawkey family, and Penpont Farm has been in our family for four generations since 1915.

Back in the 1970’s, we took a big step and decided to share our little piece of Cornwall by branching out into tourism.

It all started with a few stone and slate barns around the old farmyard, which we converted into cosy, self-catering holiday cottages. Guests quickly fell in love with the charm of staying on a working farm, surrounded by peaceful countryside and being just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Camel Estuary and stunning beaches of North Cornwall.

Over time, we’ve restored every suitable building and even built a few new cottages, creating now what’s known as The Olde House. What began as a small family farm has grown into a tranquil holiday destination.

To make stays even more special, we’ve added lots of extras over the years, like a heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, play areas (both indoors and out), a tennis court and a brand new for 2025 padel court. We’ve loved watching families return year after year, and we can’t wait to welcome you too.
